Rise, rebellious brain, and break this chain.
---------------
If charity should fade when want is fled,
Wealthy in their consciences, they will not consent.
For from the toil of the poor, their lives are fed,
Riches accursed, a mock of pious intent.
A feast may grace their table, full and fair,
Still, a fearsome state oppresses evermore.
Till the destitution enacts you in despair,
And a leniency voice is heard, ah, nevermore.
With God they jest, their own misdeeds disguised,
Grand delusions, sacred cause they feign.
Ponder on a world by preveniently devised,
Where pleasure for all is lost in selfish gain.
Rise, rebellious brain, and break this chain.
For the justice calls, and mercy must remain
